ECE3-6th Grade Students Enrolled in the In-Person Learning Option Return January 11, 2021

Denison Montessori is extremely excited to be welcoming all ECE – 6th grade students enrolled in the in-person learning option back to the building on Monday, January 11th. Additionally, we are looking forward to continuing to provide virtual instruction Kindergarten – 6th grade 100% virtual students. As we prepare for another transition, we wanted to make sure that our families had the most up to date information.
This post contains pertinent information to prepare for the first day of in-person learning and 100% virtual learning, so please read it in its entirety.
Important Reminders for the Return to In-Person Learning:
- Our school community will continue to adhere to all health and safety guidelines based on local and state rules:
- Anyone at school is required to wear a mask, covering their nose and mouth.
- Families are required to provide masks for their children, but we will have extras on hand in the event of an emergency.
- Masks will only be removed in order to eat or drink.
- Everyone will practice social distancing both inside and outside the building.
- Minimum 3 ft between students:students and students:staff
- If 3 ft distance in a class is not able to be maintained, physical barriers will be used.
- Minimum 6 ft between staff:staff
- Everyone will be washing their hands every two hours (teacher/staff managed). If soap and water are not available, hand sanitizer will be used for students K-6.
- For health and safety reasons, students will not be allowed to play on the play structures, blacktop, or field before or after school.
- Students can begin arriving at school at their designated arrival time. If you don’t know your child’s scheduled time, please contact their classroom teacher.
- Parents/Guardians are expected to screen their child at home each day
- Arrival Doors/Locations: Each class has a designated arrival door. They are the same locations as they were in the fall. If you don’t know your arrival door, please contact your teacher or the main office, 720-424-8080.
- If your child is late to school (after their class’s designated arrival window), a parent/guardian must accompany the child to the main entrance where they will be screened, checked-in, and sent to class.
- Students will be dismissed at their dismissal time from the same location they arrived in the morning. Please contact your child’s teacher if you don’t know their dismissal time.
- Please ensure your family has a plan in place in the event your child is sent home due to COVID like symptoms or exposure.
Items to Bring to School Daily:
- Backpack
- Masks (2 or more)
- Water Bottle (Students are not allowed to use the drinking fountains)
- K-6th grade students who have a DPS device need to bring it fully charged with them to school each day. Chromebook chargers can stay at home.. We have extra devices for students to use at school.
- Other supplies as identified by your child’s teacher
100% Virtual Programming: We are committed to continuing to offer a robust virtual learning option for our 100% virtual students. Virtual teachers will remain the same for students enrolled in the virtual program.
As a reminder, Google Meet sessions are for our 100% virtual students only. If your child is out sick (1-3 days), please allow your child to rest. If your child is out sick for 4+ days, and is able to participate in virtual learning, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher for virtual learning instructions.
