Denison Montessori Welcomes New Families!
Posted April 4, 2024
Denison Montessori is excited to welcome new students and families for the 2024-2025 school year! We imagine that you may have many questions about our school and how to get started as new members of our community, so we wanted to share some dates, details, and information! If you have any questions, please reach out to our main office at 720-424-8080 or email Mrs. Alice (alice_cothran@dpsk12.net) or Ms. Idalia (idalia_gonzales@dpsk12.net) for assistance.
- Online registration will be offered from May 6th-24th and again from July 29th-late August. This process can be completed through DPS’s Parent Portal. Visit myportal.dpsk12.org to get started. If you need help, visit schoolchoice.dpsk12.org or contact Denison’s main office.
- In-person registration will be held at Denison Montessori in the Dr. Martha Urioste Library and Media Center from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm on August 7th and 8th. Your child’s classroom assignment will be available once in-person registration has started.
- You can get many other details about Denison Montessori’s policies, routines, and practices in our 2023-2024 Family Handbook. This will be updated and shared in August for the 2024-2025 school year but we expect most of the information to stay the same for the upcoming school year.
- Denison Montessori is a DPS magnet school, meaning we follow the DPS school year calendar. You can find a draft of Denison’s 2024-2025 academic calendar here. This calendar will be finalized by the end of the current school year. The first day of school for students in 1st grade through 6th grade will be Monday, August 19th. Kindergartners will start school on Tuesday, August 20th. Please note, we have staggered start dates for our ECE3 and ECE 4 students. ECE3 students will start the week of August 26th, as arranged with your child’s teacher, and ECE4 students will start on September 3rd. On the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month, we have early dismissal at 1:00 pm for collaborative staff planning and professional development.
- If you haven’t already toured our school, there are two dates, May 8th and May 16th, still available. Please sign up to come visit using our sign-up genius.
- Many families who choose Denison Montessori don’t have any previous experience with Montessori education and we are excited to help you learn more about it and see the difference that Montessori education makes for your child. You can find a few resources to begin learning about Montessori here and here.
- When you are ready to get involved at Denison Montessori, a great first step is to join our Parent-Teacher Organization, Families of Denison Montessori. Their website has information about community events and how to get started with volunteering.
- Denison Montessori has two social media accounts you can follow for more updates and to see what’s going on here at school. Follow us on Facebook at Denison Montessori School and on Instagram at denisonmontessori.
We are looking forward to meeting you and your child very soon. Welcome to the Denison Montessori community!
Kind regards,
Ms. Natalie Fickes, Principal
