Good afternoon, Denison Montessori community! We are busy planning for the 2023-2024 school year and wanted to share information with you so you can begin planning for the new school year. The first day of school for students in grades 1st-6 is August 21st. Kindergarten students will start on August 22nd, ECE3 students start the week of August 28th, and ECE4 students begin class on September 7th. You may access the Denison Montessori 2023-2024 school year calendar here.
Due to the Healthy Start Time Initiative, our school day will start and end earlier. For 1st- 6th grade, students need to be in their classrooms by 8:25 each day. Dismissal will begin at 3:25 and end at 3:35. Any student who has not been picked up by 3:35 will need to be signed out of the main office. For our ECE3, ECE4, and Kindergarten students, arrival and sign-in will begin at 8:30 and end at 8:40 at the designated door for your child’s classroom. ECE3 dismissal will start at 11:20 and end at 11:30. Dismissal for ECE4 and kindergarten students will start at 3:15 and end at 3:25. For more details, please visit this document.
Another change that will impact arrival and dismissal next year is DPS’s decision to eliminate bus service at Denison Montessori. We are currently investigating a service through the Denver Regional Council of Government (DRCOG) that would allow families to connect with each other for carpooling. We will share that information as it becomes available.
The final change that will impact scheduling for the 2023-2024 school year is the addition of early release Wednesdays on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, starting in September. Please read the linked Early Release Planning document for more information.
