What is the CSC?
The CSC provides strategic direction in support of the school’s mission and vision as stated in the Unified Improvement Plan (UIP). More specifically, the CSC works closely with the principal on the school budget and school policies. The purpose of this committee is to enhance student achievement and school culture by engaging the school community in collaborative efforts supporting the school and District’s goals. Committee members include: parents, community members, faculty, administrators, and students.
Important information for parents whose students ride the bus: by now you should have received login information to access the DPS Parent Portal. The office will no longer be sending home print copies of updated bus schedules—it will be up to you to check the Portal for any schedule changes, which will be posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you need help accessing the Parent Portal, please contact Hilda in the office.
Please remind your students that they may not share food with their classmates. We have many students with food allergies ranging from nuts, wheat, food coloring, milk etc… Thanks!
Denison Parent Organization:
Butter Braids sales will begin the week of October 15. If you don’t know what they are, we will be handing out samples at morning drop off before sales begin.
In School Girl Scouts:
Parents of Upper El & Lower El girls,
We are very lucky to again have In-School Girl Scouts to work with many of our girls during lunch on Tuesdays this year! This In-School Girl Scouts program is FREE, run by specially trained Girl Scout Leaders and myself, and will meet all year during the lunch period, so the girls will not miss any instructional time. This special In-School Girl Scout group is funded by a grant called “Focus On Abilities”, where the girls work on social skills, getting along, problem solving, time management, and self- esteem; all while they have fun lunching together and making a craft.
If you are interested in having your child join us, Please contact Cary Mead, Denison School Psychologist, at 720-424-8123. We have the most space in the Upper El group at this time, but contact me as soon as possible, if you are interested for your child to join this In-School Girl Scouts.
