Friends of Public Montessori Education was formed to raise funds to support public Montessori education, and to raise public awareness about the value of Montessori education. Friends is managed by an all-volunteer, seven-member Board of Directors comprised of parents of current and former Denison students. Friends

• Markets the importance of public Montessori to the larger community,
• Helps raise funds to support families of incoming students who need help meeting tuition costs,
• Works toward expanding Montessori education into a public Montessori middle school, and
• Helps Denison prepare or directly submits grant applications.

Denver Public Schools Montessori: The DPS Montessori program at Denison has been a national model of how to create an outstanding, diverse Montessori program. We want to make sure that opportunity is available to others and that Montessori is expanded into the middle school years.

Middle School Public Montessori: The design of a Montessori program for middle school emphasizes not only on advanced academics in a supportive an challenging Montessori environment, but also on helping students of diverse socio-economic backgrounds explore the world with internships and community service. Currently the DPS Montessori Middle School is located at Hamilton Middle School.

Early Childhood Public Montessori: Parents of three-, four-, and five-year olds pay tuition to attend the DPS early childhood Montessori program. Without help from Friends, some parents cannot afford the tuition and won't be able to send their children to Denison.

How You Can Help: Please support Montessori in Denver Public Schools by contributing toward any of our programs. If your employer participates in a corporate matching gift program, contact your personnel office to obtain the proper form and submit the form with your contribution. Employers will match, double, or even triple the amount an employee contributes.
