What Does Denison Montessori Offer?

Denison's Montessori curriculum employs multi-age classrooms: 3, 4, and 5-year-olds comprise the primary program; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders are in the lower elementary program; and 4th, 5th, and 6th graders form the upper elementary program. Older children in each class work with advanced materials and frequently mentor their younger classmates. Students typically stay with their classmates and instructor for three years. A Suzuki Violin program at Denison Montessori is offered to students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. DPS Montessori education for Montessori-trained children in 7th and 8th grade is held at Hamilton Middle School. As a magnet school, Denison draws students from a wide range of backgrounds throughout Denver. That diversity is one of Denison's strengths as our students learn to appreciate classmates from a variety of cultures within a school environment that emphasizes self-respect and personal responsibility.

Blended Classrooms
Classrooms are blended with children of different age groups together:
     · Primary: Three, four and five year olds
